The PEOPLE International Coordination Office (ICO) warmly congratulates Professor Tek Maraseni, a member of the PEOPLE Steering Group, on receiving two distinguished awards in recognition of his outstanding contributions to research, international scientific collaboration, and postgraduate supervision.
Professor Maraseni has been awarded the Distinguished Scientist Fellowship (2025–2026) under the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) President’s International Fellowship Initiative (PIFI). The Distinguished Scientist Fellowship is the highest category of the PIFI program and is awarded to internationally recognized researchers with exceptional scientific achievements and global impact. The fellowship supports international collaboration between leading scientists and the Chinese Academy of Sciences.
In addition, Professor Maraseni received the Best Postgraduate Research Supervision (PhD/MSc) Award 2025 from the University of Southern Queensland (UniSQ), recognizing his excellence in mentoring and supervising postgraduate researchers.
